The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) is a treaty-based international organization with headquarters in The Hague, the Netherlands. Its mandate is to secure the cooperation of governments and others in locating missing persons. NGS Analysts will support the development, validation, implementation, accreditation and delivery of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) activities for the purpose of identification of human remains
Working closely with and under the supervision of the NGS Scientist, the NGS Analysts will develop robust and reliable sequencing methods, data management/databasing systems, and data analysis and interpretation workflows. The NGS Analysts will also support the accreditation of NGS methods to ISO17025, and their subsequent implementation into operational casework, developing relevant documentation (SOPs, processing forms) and training materials where required.
Once NGS methods are implemented, NGS Analysts will undertake the sequencing of DNA samples submitted to the ICMP. They will continually work to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and capacity of ICMP’s DNA Laboratories and related or commissioned collaborations (both local and international).

The position is at the TOS 5 level on the ICMP technical and operational support salary scale. ICMP enjoys exemption from income tax and social security deductions in The Netherlands (staff members are responsible for any income tax in their home country).
