The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. Education Global Practice, East Asia and the Pacific Region

The World Bank's Education Global Practice in the East Asia and Pacific region focuses on improving educational outcomes and opportunities in several countries in this region. Our work encompasses a series of initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education, from early childhood to higher education and vocational training. This includes projects and analytical work to strengthen education systems, improve the quality of teaching, modernize curricula, and increase equitable access to education, particularly for disadvantaged groups. Our work also addresses region-specific challenges, such as adapting education to rapidly changing economies, closing educational gaps between rural and urban areas, and leveraging technology for learning, while engaging in policy dialogue with governments to support educational reforms and sustainable financing of education.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide on-demand operational support to teams on lending and analytical work and ensure adherence with regional and global quality requirements.
• Support the preparation and review of project documents such as Concept Notes, Implementation Status and Results Reports, Project Appraisal Documents, Restructuring Papers, Aide memoires, ASA reports, and provide timely feedback to project teams.
• Provide direct support on selected projects as agreed with the Practice Manager and handle counterpart requests on behalf of Task Team Leaders.
• Participate in implementation support missions and contribute to mission documents.
• Support on-demand research and data collection and contribute to write-up of reports, proposals, and briefs.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of national or sub-national events (online events and/or in-person events)

Selection Criteria

• Degree in an area relevant to human development work, such as education, economics, finance, public policy, or related social science fields.
• Possesses local knowledge of the education sector in Cambodia.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as ability to follow guidance from the Team leader(s) and Practice Manager.
• Strong technical skills, organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
• Strong technical analysis skills (quantitative and qualitative), monitoring and evaluation skills, and knowledge and use of data related to the education sector.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Khmer and English.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
