We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of internship for Gender, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Intern (1 Positions) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for the USAID Civil Society Support (CSS) Activity. The CSS Activity is a three-year and ten-month, $8.5 million USAID-funded project implemented by FHI 360 and its partner, the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL). CSS will strengthen civil society through support for increased coordination and collective action, an improved enabling environment, and innovative approaches to advocacy. The overall goal of the project is a civil society that is more able to protect civic space, to strengthen democratic reforms, and to promote and protect human rights.

GEDSI Intern

JOB SUMMARY:

GEDSI Intern will provide support to CSS project on GEDSI related activities in CSS program and partners’ implementation levels. The Intern will report to Civic Engagement Coordinator (CEC).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CONTRIBUTIONS:

Under the overall guidance of the CEC, the GEDSI Intern shall perform the following duties:

  • Assist with daily tasks related to GEDSI, including tracking the implementation of CSS's GEDSI plan and its partners’ GEDSI plans
  • Observe and support the implementation of GEDSI plans by CSS and its partners
  • Support logistics and organization of GEDSI training/workshop
  • Assist in taking notes for meetings/trainings/workshops
  • Attend CSS partner events and prepare brief reports
  • And performed other tasks assigned

    TYPE AND NATURE OF CONTRACTS:

    • Intern (6 months) from June 15 to Dec 15 2023
    • Full time (flexible working hour according to supervisor approval)

      INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

      • Learn from the CSS project, especially on the concept of GEDSI
      • Gain experience working with an INGO and its CSO partners
      • Build knowledge and capacity on GEDSI and other program activities
      • Meet other stakeholders in CSS projects.
      • Receiving certificate from FHI 360 for the 6-month internship period

        Education &QUALIFICATION:

        • Fresh graduate or undergraduate student (at least in Year 3) in Laws, Social study, and other related field.
        • Ability to use Microsoft Office and Finance software.
        • Must be able to read, write, and speak English and Khmer.

          Experience/Other Requirements:

          • High commitment to learn during the internship
          • Demonstrated willingness to travel in Phnom Penh and to provinces for field visits/monitoring
          • Demonstrated willingness to learn by doing
          • Demonstrated work flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
          • Demonstrated good communication and teamwork
