Your tasks:

  • Support GNO management in defining the vision and strategy for the Food Security and Nutrition portfolio of work
  • Support the strategic orientation of the FSN portfolio of Plan International Germany, develop technical guidance and tools, and work closely with other technical specialists on strengthening multi-sectoral programming approaches
  • Provide technical advice throughout the project management cycle to the project teams of prioritized projects in the context of development cooperation and humanitarian action
  • Set up and run the FSN Community of Practice to build and strengthen Plan Germany’s internal technical expertise on food security and nutrition programming, to continuously strengthen quality programming and knowledge management of Plan Germany’s project managers Advise on the development of a robust monitoring framework for projects with a Food Security and Nutrition components, in close collaboration with our M&E team
  • Providing technical support to Plan International Programme Country Offices, supporting programme design, implementation, assessments and monitoring, feasibility studies, workshops, etc.
  • Support the development of the global framework on FNS for the federation (in close coordination with internal technical working groups)
  • Active participation in relevant internal and external networks and working groups

Your profile:

  • University degree in relevant field of study (Nutritional sciences, public health nutrition, Food Security and Climate Change, Economics or related fields etc.)
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of food security and nutrition programmatic approaches in humanitarian settings
  • Several years’ experience designing, implementing and managing food security and nutrition programmes, primarily in humanitarian settings and according to sectoral standards
  • Several years of experience in development cooperation and/or humanitarian action, with proven in-country experience
  • Experience in capacity strengthening in food and nutrition security with a variety of audiences, including lay audiences involved in project management with limited access to project implementation
  • Basic understanding of other programmatic areas such as: Child Protection, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, Youth engagement and Gender
  • Knowledge and experience with national and international donors’ priorities, processes and guidelines is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and on your own initiative, quick comprehension of unfamiliar issues and ability to work under pressure
  • Very good MS-Office skills
  • Very good written and spoken English; knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an advantage
  • Ability to work across different contexts and willingness to travel at short notice, including to crisis contexts
  • Team player, flexible and solution-oriented
