The purpose of a Finance Officer position is to implement delegated areas of responsibility. 

Specific responsibilities 

  1. In close cooperation with the finance coordinator, prepare NRC Palestine salaries (JRS, WB and Gaza) according to Israeli and Palestinian law.
  2. Follow up with logistics on payments and deadlines
  3. Revise and post petty cash payments and bank transfer payments on a weekly basis, and check all supporting documents of all payments to make sure that they are complete, correct, and in compliance with NRC rules and regulations 
  4. Prepare invoice posting, post back tools, and Fair Share allocation.
  5. Prepare salary posting after receiving project allocations.
  6. Review and post all WB / JRS transactions 
  7. Responsible for weekly and monthly bank reconciliation for WB / JRS office
  8. Take responsibility for the month-end closure, including the BRS and submit it to the finance coordinator 
  9. Prepare WB / JRS staff timesheets on a monthly basis
  10. Prepare all WB / JRS transactions’ reallocation post-backs  in close coordination with the finance coordinator
  11. Responsible for posting WB / JRS partners’ PRs.
  12. Cooperate with Finance TA on filling and SSD.
  13. Follow up on international payments to clear account 1560 on a monthly basis.
  14. Undertake any other reasonable task assigned by management
  15. Contribute to the implementation of Safe and Inclusive Programming Minimum Standards across your area of work
  16. Support the finance coordinator in the national salary calculation.

    Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience: 

  17. Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance, business, or any other related fields
  18. Minimum of 2 years of experience in working in a similar role 
  19. Good Knowledge of the Palestinian and Israeli taxation laws
  20. Good Knowledge of Oketz and Bisan salary system
  21. Ability to work under pressure
  22. Highest standards of ethics and integrity and attention to detail
