Background

Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Finance, the Finance Intern supports Finance services ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work.
The Finance Intern works in close collaboration with the operations, programme and projects’ staff in the CO and in the field offices to exchange information

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Associate builds knowledge and performs a variety
of specialized tasks and duties:

  • Learn/Assist in VAT recording in Excel Sheet on daily basis
  • Learn/Assist in preparation of invoices and Excel Sheet for Indirect Tax Agency (ITA) on monthly basis
  • Learn/Assist in preparation of simple reports
  • Learn/Assist in preparation of documentation for Audit review
  • Learn/Maintain general finance files,
  • Learn/Maintain finance intranet

      Required Skills and Experience

      Academic requirements:

      1. Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme of Economic School (minimum Bachelor’s level);
      2. Be enrolled in a Master degree programme;
      3. Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.

        Skills

        1. Proficiency in English
        2. Knowledge of local languages would be an asset
        3. Computer literacy in standard office software applications.

          The intern will have the opportunity to:

          • Participate in in-house training opportunities as applicable;
          • Learn the structure, mechanisms, policies and practice areas of UNDP;
          • Strengthen his/her knowledge of finance processes.
