The Bank for International Settlements, BIS is hiring a Deputy Head of Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre.

This role is based in Basel, however, thanks to our status as an international organization, we can hire globally and welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and located anywhere in the world. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate and their dependent family members.

Purpose of the job:

Our mission is to support central banks' pursuit of monetary and financial stability through international partnership and to act as a bank for central banks.

In support of this mission, the Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre (CRCC) promotes knowledge sharing and collaboration amongst central banks in the area of cyber resilience

The Deputy Head of CRCC will lead and develop the CRCC, under the guidance of the Head of Corporate Security & CRCC, and orchestrate the associated outreach activities.

· have the opportunity to collaborate and knowledge-share on a global scale with our international central banking community consisting of over 60 countries and leading experts in cybersecurity on topics relating to cyber resilience.

· be involved in unique and impactful work at the core of the global financial system working with cutting edge FinTech.

· steer discussions and research into the latest technologies and innovations in cybersecurity and how they can be leveraged by the central banking community to protect the cyber security of the global financial system.

Principal accountabilities:

· Develop the strategy and policies of the CRCC, under the guidance of the Head of Corporate Security & CRCC, and with the consultation of relevant stakeholders.

· Strengthen the collective cyber resilience of the central bank community through active collaboration.

· Promote best of breed and innovative cyber resilience practices in the central bank community.

· Represent the Bank in meetings and other information exchanges on cyber resilience within the central bank community.

· Build the Bank’s international cyber security partnerships, including the broader financial sector. Ensure a coordinated response within these partnerships to major cyber threats.

· Support and foster applied research and cutting-edge knowledge (incl. academic partnerships) to foresee and protect against sophisticated cyber attacks.

· Devise and contribute to delivering cyber range training exercise capabilities as well an information exchange platform for secure multilateral exchanges.

· Devise and contribute to delivering cyber security seminars to exchange knowledge and best practices.

· Deputise for the Head of CRCC in their absence.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

· Master’s degree in computer science, cyber security, business administration or equivalent experience.

· Proven experience in Security, IT or Risk Management.

· Ideally, experience within a government/International organisation, or central bank.

· Track record as a speaker in international conferences and evidence of a broad network including experts both in the industry and academia.

· Strong technical background in cyber security, and experience in incident response and recovery.

· Experienced in applying a risk-based analytical approach to IT security issues.

· Significant involvement in strategy and policy development with a track record of effective implementation, ideally in the three line of defence model.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the institution.

· Fluency in English, both written and oral communication skills.
