ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

The ITS Information Security and Risk Management (ITSSR) unit, headed by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), is responsible for providing leadership in managing the information security and risk functions and activities across the World Bank Group, enabling the achievement of WBG's business objectives. ITSCB unit within ITSSR is seeking an experienced Data Analyst who will provide support to its data analytics program.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

•Provide overall support to ITSCB’s data analytics program which includes:

o Identify, extract, integrate, and analyze multiple, complex data and data sets in support of ITSCB.

o Develop scripts to extract data, automate processes, and integrate tools.

o Provide expertise on data analysis, business intelligence tools, data visualization and design. Interprets data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports for IT teams and management.

o Collect and analyze requirements from stakeholders, design, develop, test, execute, document and maintain reports and dashboards that provide insights in support of IT operations, compliance, and cybersecurity.

o Learn, understand, and become proficient in relevant WBG and external data sources and systems including ServiceNow, Splunk, RSAM, Tripwire.

o Utilize appropriate data sources, definitions, and integration for analysis as appropriate. Understand the limits of use for each data source as well as the differences between similar elements in different data sets.

o Develop written and graphic presentations of information for WBG staff. Using creative and adaptive thinking skills, design and create a wide range of polished, engaging, innovative and relevant reports, briefs, presentations, and visualizations that present large amounts of information in ways that are universally understandable, easy to interpret, and communicate compelling stories to diverse audiences to inform decision-making and support quality and safety related improvement projects.

o Solve complex business process and information requirements problems via a combination of analytic judgment, process automation and proven analytic practices.

o Research, identify, and define new process improvement initiatives and opportunities. Conduct trend and predictive analysis to drive innovative solutions to improve service delivery.

o Leverage data visualization, scripting, and websites development to deliver a rich user experience, drive efficiency through business process automation, and enhance strategic decision-making by facilitating data-informed/driven decision-making.

o Maintain and update requirement and technical documentation.

•Be the anchor for ITSCB’s data analytics program in Chennai.

Selection Criteria

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, information technology, or a related field with 2 years relevant experience in scripting, data analysis, data cleansing, forecasting, predictive and prescriptive intelligence and data visualization for large data sets OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

•Demonstrated hands-on experience with PowerBI, Power Automate, python scripting required.

•Demonstrated hands-on experience with building moderate to complex reports and dashboards, required.

•Proficiency with scripting and automation tools such as, python, R, ACL, power shell, power automate, required.

•Proficiency in common data science toolkits, such as R, SAS, SQL, Oracle, and PowerBI to manipulate data and draw insights from large IT related data sets, required.

•Expertise in using Power BI data visualization to report, analyze and interpret IT related data and convey insights to disparate audiences, required.

•Strong analytical skills, ability to think outside the box and be creative in visualizing data to support informed decision-making.

•Demonstrated experience in collecting and interpreting data analytics requirements from stakeholders a plus.

•Experience is using AI with data analytics, a plus.

•Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.

•Strong presentation and facilitation skills

•Ability to work under pressure, manage multi-task requirements and meet tight deadlines.

•Ability to build and sustain cooperative and collaborative relationships in a multicultural team environment.

•Strong sense of urgency necessary to meet objectives and deadlines; self-starter; must have initiative.
