Background
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is contracting a consultant to develop digital training materials for Promoting Resilience and Food Security through Risk-Contingent Credit (RCC) project in Kenya. RCC is a financial product that embeds within its structure an insurance protection where qualifying smallholder farmers are able to borrow agricultural production loans from formal financial institutions with minimum to no collateral. The long-term purpose of RCC is to promote resilience and investment opportunities among smallholders by promoting sustainable access to rural credit markets and enhancing agricultural investment. The project is being implemented in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Zambia. In Kenya, the product is being implemented in partnership with University of Greenwich, Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies, Equity Bank, Family Bank and APA insurance across three counties: Machakos, Muran’ga, and Embu. To promote gender equality in reach and benefits, the project seeks to develop training materials that support equality in learning among men and women smallholder farmers. We are therefore seeking to work with a consultant who will develop animated, video-based learning materials that are easily accessible and understood by our target farmers.
Scope of work
