Job Functions: Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage implementation and review of capacity strengthening plans (CSPs), timely progress towards stated objectives, and partner progress
  • Conduct or coordinate capacity assessments as needed, for prime partners and local subpartners
  • Coordinate the FHI 360 team of organizational advisors (organizational development, HR, compliance, finance, etc.) to provide TA for each partner
  • Develop training and coaching materials and obtain inputs from colleagues and other available resources
  • Deliver and coordinate interactive and practical learning sessions, tapping into internal and external expertise
  • Manage logistical arrangements for trainings and workshops
  • Ensure monitoring of the CSPs, including tracking of CS indicators, and pause and reflect sessions, in coordination with the Senior Management Team
  • Support prime and subpartners in establishing mechanisms to access outside support (e.g. legal, auditing, IT)
  • Guide Organizational Capacity Development Advisor in organizing organizational development support and working with prime partners and subpartners to develop capacity priorities
  • Support prime partners in preparing USAID deliverables, and tracking addressing Special Award Conditions in a timely manner, in coordination with FHI 360 advisors
  • In line with CSPs and TA requests, mentor key personnel in the prime partners in implementing strategies to manage growth across all sectors
  • Organize regular meetings with Chiefs of Party of the prime partners to track progress of TA

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Master’s Degree plus 7-9 years’ experience or bachelor’s degree plus 9-11 years’ experience in social sciences, business administration, or a related field.
    • Experience in strengthening the capacity of local organizations including assessing technical and organizational capacity, developing customized capacity building plans, and providing individualized training, coaching and on-site support in various areas of need.
    • Experience designing CS interventions aligned with adult education principles an advantage
    • Experience in working with USAID/ PEPFAR funding required, in Mozambique an advantage.
    • Highly experienced project manager that understands the integration of budgets, project targets, organizational structures and technical approaches and can support local organizations in developing the systems and capacity the ability to do this.
    • Expertise in one of the following areas of TA an advantage: M&E, Procurement and Administration, or Finance.
    • Solid experience in the management of people and systems in high-pressure environments. Experience managing complex human resource situations an advantage. Experience managing consultants (design TORs, select candidates, revise deliverables).
    • Excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to be an influential coach and TA provider.
    • Excellent attention to detail.
    • Fluency in English and Portuguese – oral and written. Excellent writing skills.
    • Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel skills.
