Enabling Systems Transformation - Agribusiness Innovation Platform

 

ICRISAT seeks applications from dynamic professionals for the position of Associate Manager for its Agribusiness and Innovation Platform (AIP)– Global Research Program – Enabling Systems Transformation (EST). This position is based at ICRISAT Headquarters, near Greater Hyderabad, Telangana State, India.

Job description:

 

Post-Harvest management, value addition, food processing, Research & Development, nutritional profiling, Project implementation and execution, Proposal development, report writing and publication.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·         Development of new food product formulations based on the market demand, industry requirements and consumer needs as per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) guidelines

·         Planning, designing, and carrying out analytical activities (nutritional, functional, sensory and rancidity/shelf-life studies) of the raw material as well as food products

·         Development of SOP’s, new and rapid analytical methods

·         Food product scale-up activities and factory trials

·         Establishment of food processing units, implementation of Hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) and Food safety management system (FSMS)

·         Training and capacity building in the areas of food processing, implementation of HACCP, FSMS, food safety and quality, packaging and labelling as per FSSAI regulations, barcoding, traceability, documentation etc

·         Undertake client/incubation services and provide technical support in food product development and related R&D

·         Undertake nutritional intervention studies in the field level - designing surveys, monitoring data collection, impact assessment surveys

·         Project implementation and coordination with project stakeholders and donors

·         Contribute to proposal development, research articles/publications, project reports, case studies, success stories, training material, presentations for seminars, project review meetings, and other events

·         Mentor and guide field staff, interns, other staff in planning and execution of project activities and reporting to the donor

·         Coordinate with the team members of other programs in enhancing the operations of NutriPlus knowledge (NPK) program for enhanced impact

·         Experimental data analysis, interpretation and report writing

·         Managing of day-to-day operations of food product laboratory, analytical laboratory and pilot plant facility of NPK program

·         Any other assignment as requested by the supervisor and management

 

Competencies:

 

·         Hands on experience in nutritional analysis and experience in handling analytical instruments

·         Good knowledge on FSSAI guidelines and regulations in food product development, food business operations, packaging & labelling, nutritional/health claims etc

·         Experience in establishment of small and medium scale millet/pulses/groundnut primary and secondary food processing units

·         Experience in proposal development, budget preparation and project implementation

·         Proficiency in English (written and spoken) and local language – Telugu (written and spoken)

·         Good networking skills and should be a good team player and adaptable to working in multicultural team

·         Willing to travel to the project locations across India and overseas

 

 Requirements:

 

        Post-Graduation in Food Technology       Preferred Qualification - M.Sc (Food Technology)         Should contain 8-10 years of relevant experience        Good computer skills (MS- OFFICE)        Preferred Industry Experience - Food processing, Research & Development, Quality Control, Food Safety

This is a contractual role for a period of 36 months (3 years’).
