Org. Setting and ReportingThis position is in the Supply Chain Management Section of the United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia (UNVMC). The Associate Logistics Officer will be under the supervision of the Chief, Supply Chain Management Section. ResponsibilitiesWithin the limits of delegated authority, the Associate Logistics Officer for Supply Chain Management will be responsible for the following duties: • Provides logistics support for the end-to-end ongoing air, land, sea, or rail operations in the area. • Identifies, mobilizes resources, implements, and reports on special logistics operations. • Establish Power BI reports, logistic plans, and other documents of logistics cross-cutting operations of the Supply Chain Management Section, as directed by Section Chief. • Drafts and coordinates inputs to Supply Chain reports, presentations, briefing notes, and other information documents required by the management. • Assists in strategizing and innovating with the Supply Chain Management Section and stakeholders to implement the Acquisition Plan. Considers total value and ownership cost in sourcing, including global contracts, local markets, logistics forecasting, inventory management, and ongoing assessment of operational needs. • Liaises and coordinates end-to-end supply chain support with other mission components, such as military, police, security, and substantive offices. • Liaises and coordinates logistics support with other units within the Mission Support Division, such as transportation, communications, movement control and procurement. • Coordinates and oversees the integrated management of all supply chain areas from planning to delivery, covering activities like demand planning, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, business intelligence, performance monitoring, and distribution tracking to ensure timely execution of planned tasks. • Ensures that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained. • Performs other related duties as required. EducationAdvanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, supply chain, engineering, law or other relevant field. A first-level degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) with two (2) additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Job - Specific QualificationCertificate in Data analysis tools and/or in Business Intelligence is desirable. Certification in Project /Programme Management methodology by an accredited body (i.e., PMP, PGMP, PRINCE2 Agile Foundation Project Management certification or practitioner level) is required. Certification in process improvement SCOR-P, Lean or Six Sigma Foundation or equivalent is desirable. Work ExperienceA minimum of two (02) years of progressively responsible experience in supply chain, land or air transport, logistics operations in military, commercial or international organizations, or related area is required. Working experience in performance management, data management and performance reporting using business intelligence tools for data analysis and visualization is required. Working experience in managing aspects of the supply chain such as procurement, acquisition and inventory management is desirable. Proficiency using software tools for data analysis such as excel, SAP or specialized supply chain management software is required. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in both English and Spanish is required. NOTE: Fluency equals a rating of \"fluent\" in all four areas (read, write, speak, understand) and \"knowledge of\" equals a rating of \"confident\" in two of the four areas.
