Job description

The new EU co-financing project \"Mobilite Verte Yaoundé\", as part of the Global Project Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) Just Mobility, aims at improving access, especially for women and marginalized groups, to active mobility in the city center (Action Field 1) as well as yellow taxi services (Action Field 2). Action Field 1 focuses on improving the infrastructure for pedestrians in downtown Yaoundé. The focus is on the re-built of existing streets to better include walking/cycling infrastructure, greenery, street vending, etc. in a holistic street re-design concept. The activities are designed in the sense of a Team Europe Initiative.

Your tasks

Planning, project management and implementation of activities and deliverables defined under Action Field 1 of this project Advisory to and close collaboration with the local implementation partner) in the planning, design and implementation of Action Field 1 Procurement, coordination and monitoring of external consultants and recipients of grant agreements charged with the different activities that form part of the implementation of Action Field 1 (e.g. street layout design and traffic modelling, drainage repair works, landscaping & tree planting strategy, street waste management / recycling) Collaboration with the project representatives at the Global Project TUMI Just Mobility Solutions in Germany on activities related to the project but reaching beyond, e.g. regional event / training series on urban mobility in Sub-Sahara Africa, support in organizing study tours Collaboration and information to the EU co-financing partner and other stakeholders in the area of urban mobility on potential synergies, interdependencies Information to and exchange with the project in form of regular meetings, project updates, reports etc. about the progress of the project Representation of the project in working groups (e.g. Platform Urbaine) and communications / outreach formats and events at local, national and regional level

Your profile

Architect, urban planner, transport planner or transport engineer Many years of work experience in the urban or transport sector Many years of experience in project management and project coordination Experience in working in Africa Business fluent French and English and / or German
