The recent development in Ukraine have led over 7.6 million refugees to flee over the borders from Ukraine and a further 6.3 million have been displaced within Ukraine. The estimated 17,7 million people that are stranded in Ukraine face shortages of basic needs such as water, food and medicine.
5,796,748 refugees have crossed the Polish border, 591,947 refugees have crossed the Moldavian border and 1,127,998 refugees the Romanian border.
This situation has led ACF France to open Country Offices, in Ukraine, Poland and Romania and ACF Spain in Moldova.
ACF has deployed a regional multi-sectorial strategy through direct implementation and partnership. Core activities are Food Security & Livelihood (canned and dry food distribution, hot meals, cash) and Mental Health & Care Practices (psychosocial support, PFA training, Baby Friendly Space, psychiatric referrals). In Ukraine strategy includes WASH activities (rehabilitation/repair of centralized water and sanitation networks as well as gas networks and boiler plants, minor repair of Collective/Transit Centers and hygiene kit distribution) as well as Health & Nutrition ones (primary health care structures support).
The Ukraine crisis is one of the largest displacement events - and humanitarian responses - of recent history. The scale and scope of ACF's activities and operations is significant. This role offers an opportunity for a developing humanitarian programmes professional to help support meaningful humanitarian aid to an ever-growing population in need. As this is a new and expanding emergency, the postholder will be able to help build teams and systems, as well as to expand to new geographical areas in the near future.
In Ukraine, ACF intervenes in the East (Dnipro, Kharkiv and Zapporizhzhia in particular), the West (Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi) and is extending its coverage to the southern part of the country (Odessa and Mykolaiv).
As Field Coordinator for Dnipro, you will be under the supervision of the Area Coordinator East and you will provide leadership at field base level in order to deliver a quality and timely emergency response to events as assigned. You will be responsible for :
You have a Bachelor degree in humanitarian aid, international relations, or related fields with at least 2 years managing a multi-programmes in a Field or Area Office of an NGO. You have an extensive knowledge and understanding of Humanitarian coordination mechanisms with demonstrable experience of project cycle management. You have strong abilities with Microsoft Office programs and capacities of team management. With excellent reporting skills, you have also a good organization, an ability to set priorities and time management. You also have the capacities to working and living in conflict-affected environment, as well as to work under stressful conditions and tight deadlines. You are able to take autonomous decisions and you have a professional proficiency in one or more of these sectors: Wash/FSL/MHPSS/ Health/Nutrition/Emergency Response.
The knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian will be an asset.
