A place to make a difference:

In this part-time, permanent role (22.8 hours per week, flexible hours Monday to Friday), you will be based in Mount Isa and be empowered to make a difference in children’s lives by learning, sharing and collaborating to find new ways to solve problems.

You will make a difference by:

Providing support to young people who are not supported by protective factors (families, friends, communities, school, and cultural connections) to enable them to lead safe, healthy, and active lives. entering, or already involved in, the Youth Justice System, including those who are exiting detention or under youth justice supervision. Providing a culturally responsive service by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into the design, delivery and evaluation of your programs and services. Providing young people with case management support that is collaborative, coordinated and client-centred, supporting young people to meet their individual needs and to increase their self-reliance and independence. Provision of quality service delivery Monitoring and evaluation of program outcomes

Bringing your best every day, means:

Demonstrated skills and experience working with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, young people disengaged with the school system, young people in contact with the justice system and those who have experienced Trauma Demonstrated experience in youth work / case management roles An understanding of complex intergenerational trauma Strong verbal and written communication skills An understanding of child protection concerns and commitment to responding safely and effectively Sound time management and organizational skills, and ability to manage and plan own workload.
