Position Title: Urban Guides, Regulations and Codes Expert (International)

Duty Station: Makkah/Jeddah and remotely

Duration: Up to 100 days over 10 months with possibility for extension

This vacancy is announced by UNDP Saudi Arabia through Stars Orbit Consultants and Management Development (SOC). SOC is a sub-contractor for UNDP Saudi Arabia, assisting the programme in implementing their activities through HR and contract management of consultants working in their support.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• MSc in a subject directly related to urban guides/regulations/codes.
• BSc architectural design or engineering.

Experiences:

• 15 minimum years of relevant work experience.
• Full proficiency in the subject matter of urban guides, regulations, codes at both city and area-specific levels.
• Production of soft or hard copy guides/regulations/standards.
• Ability to participate actively in meetings and/or workshops.
• General civil and construction design knowledge.
• Ability to understand, assess and if necessary, modify detailed urban, architectural, landscape plans, details and documents.
• Public realm planning and design skills.
• Embedding sustainability principles in urban guides, regulations and codes.
• AutoCAD skills.

Language:

• Full proficiency in the English is required. Ability to read/write/speak Arabic will be an advantage.
