About this position

We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, and team-oriented professional to work as an Investment Operations Specialist or Senior Associate in our Investment Team within the Executive Secretariat of the Staff Retirement Plans. As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the accounting of investments, cash and investments reconciliations, performance calculation and reporting, trading and settlement implementation, compliance monitoring, operational and investment risk management, investment manager engagement and asset class analysis, and interactions with internal and external stakeholders.

The Investment team is responsible for overseeing five Plans with assets totaling more than $7.2 billion: three Defined Benefit Pension Plans (Staff, Local and Complementary Staff), one Postretirement Benefits Plan and a Retiree Life Insurance Program. The five Plans’ assets are diversified and are subject to governing committee-approved Investment Policy Statements (IPS). In addition to handling the Plans’ diverse asset class investments, which are managed in more than 80 individual fund / strategy vehicles by more than 20 investment management firms, the team provides input to the Finance, Human Resources and Risk Management Divisions, to Senior Management, to the Board of Executive Directors and to Governing Committees, all of which require subject matter expertise (SME), multi-group interaction and reporting deliverables.

What you’ll do:

Run all investment operations activities; including implementation, execution, and settlement of transactions from the portfolios’ rebalancing and other trade activities, review and pay fee invoices, reconcile cash and investment accounts, calculate investments performance, and prepare performance reports, maintain databases of assets and performance. Lead the external audit engagements of the Plans’ financial statements, and any relevant internal audit requests. Coordinate the five Plans’ quarterly and annual financial statements. Provide input into the implementation of the Bank’s climate-related disclosures under global sustainability reporting standards (e.g. Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Boards (ISSB), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) frameworks). Manage compliance with investment guidelines, evaluate, design, implement, and monitor internal controls. Lead operational due diligence meetings with custodian and asset managers and assess its internal controls. Maintain operational excellence by promoting and implementing industry best practices internally, with custodian and asset managers. Build spreadsheets and dashboards to improve monthly rebalancing process, portfolio monitoring and reporting, subcomponents of assets and performance databases. Identify and implement automation of tasks within operations, including those related to operational risk management and the preparation of financial statements. Oversee and maintain active robotic process automations in collaboration with the Bank’s Information Technology Department. Effectively delegate tasks, providing clear guidance to more junior colleagues, and monitoring progress to ensure successful project execution.

What you'll need

Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, or other field relevant to the responsibilities of the role. CPA or similar accounting designation strongly preferred. Progress towards professional designation such as CFA or FRM, or similar accounting or finance designation desired. Experience: At least four years of relevant professional experience in accounting, finance and/or investments. Experience in operations, risk management and/or transactions strongly desired. Programming/Analytics: Knowledge of tools such as Power Bi, Power Automate, Bloomberg, SAP, programing skills, MS Project, Tableau, SQL and/or other programming, analytics, and visualization systems strongly desired. Demonstrate the ability to set clear and achievable goals, translate them into actionable plans, and empower others to achieve them. Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, navigate challenges, and maintain composure under pressure. Languages: Proficiency in English required. Knowledge of another Bank official language (Spanish, French and/or Portuguese) is highly desired.

Requirements

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents. Type of contract and duration

International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
