NIB is seeking a
Trainee
to join the Market and Liquidity Risk Unit within the Risk & Compliance Department in Helsinki for a fixed term contract of maximum one year. Risk & Compliance Department is responsible for the management and control of the Bank’s market, liquidity, portfolio credit and operational risk as well as capital adequacy assessment.
Main responsibilities
The selected candidate shall contribute to the following:
• Assist to strengthen risk management framework through use of data/models to enhance controls and risk monitoring.
• Support the periodic reporting and limit monitoring processes:
o Support the analysis and monitoring of risk metrics.
o Contribute to the development and maintenance of reports.
• Provide support to the team on ad hoc projects and studies.
Qualifications and experience
• A Master’s degree or studies at a final stage in finance, engineering, applied mathematics or other quantitative discipline.
• Strong analytical skills and capability to understand and evaluate complex data structures and processes.
• Good technical competencies (SQL, programming skills, MS Office). PowerBI competence would be an asset.
• Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong command of English. Knowledge of at least one of the Scandinavian languages would be an asset.
• Basic knowledge of financial markets and instruments
• Relevant risk management experience in banking and knowledge of banking regulation would be an asset.
