ABOUT THE ROLE

The Transparency International Secretariat is currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Assistant, Strategy and MEL.

At Transparency International we are committed to working towards greater transparency, accountability and integrity, including in our own work. The Strategy and MEL team is responsible to ensure that results are demonstrated and learning is consolidated in order to improve organisational performance and anti-corruption impact. Further, the role of the team is to lead the organisational and strategic planning processes and the design, development and implementation of the TI Movement-wide monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) system. The team also provides technical expertise on MEL framework design and implementation to TI’s programmes, projects and services throughout the TI Secretariat (TI-S), as well as builds the capacity of TI-S and National Chapter staff on MEL framework design and use.

OVERVIEW OF KEY DIMENSIONS

Role Purpose: The Temporary Part-Time Assistant, Strategy and MEL provides general administrative and coordination support in day-to-day operations of the Strategy and MEL function.

Team: Strategy and MEL / CEO Office

Salary: MidiJob (up to EUR 1300 per month max.)

Starting Date: as soon as possible

Contract Duration: Currently we can offer an employment contract (MidiJob) limited until August 31, 2022.

Working Hours: part time; 20-30 hours per week (MidiJob)

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

Based in the Strategy and MEL Team, the Temporary Part-Time Assistant will:

  • Provide general support in day-to-day operations of the Strategy and MEL function
  • Support the Strategy & MEL team’s work and information flow across the TI Secretariat and the Movement
  • Support information management for the team, including maintaining up to date, organised and accurate filing systems
  • Support the team on implementing leaner, more efficient, and better monitoring and evaluation processes and systems whenever needed
  • Assist in gathering planning and reporting data to improve accountability and evidence-based learning
  • Provide assistance in the logistical set-up of meetings and events, e.g. capacity-building activities (remote and on-site)
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the team by providing ad-hoc support as needed

CANDIDATE PROFILE

In order to succeed in this role, candidates will need to meet the following:

  • Background in administration, management, MEL, communication, compliance, and/or other related fields
  • First relevant experience in an international organisational context working on administrative support, project management, monitoring, evaluation and learning, communications or related
  • First experience of knowledge management, project management and/or management of events (remote and in-person)
  • Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning and/or organisational and capacity development an advantage
  • Solid IT literacy in MS Office and Outlook and ability to learn quickly the use of other software or systems
  • Good communication and relationship management skills working collaboratively across stakeholders at all levels
  • Business fluency in English required; additional languages, in particular French, Spanish and/or Arabic, an asset
  • Strong organisational and time management skills and ability to effectively manage priorities and competing demands coordinating closely with colleagues and seeking counsel when needed
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to produce accurate documentation with attention to detail
  • Highly developed team work and intercultural communication skills
  • Interest in anti-corruption work and commitment to the values and principles of Transparency International
