Monitor the team’s activities; measure output against agreed standards and objectives in terms of achievement, performance, safety, quality & security, costs, etc., and take corrective actions when necessary. Lead and initiate, in close cooperation with relevant services, projects (e.g., hardware renewal, datacentre restructuring, reconfiguration of Ops room), activities (e.g., hardware adaptations, architectural design, and modifications, change requests) to further develop and improve relevant systems and overall service delivery. Collaborate, coordinate and involve other teams, services, and staff (e.g. problem & incident managers, teams involved in maintenance activities) to prepare problem reports, system performance, and efficiency reports. Provide advice and support to senior management on continuous improvement of the System Control service including future strategic developments of systems and services, including MUAC’s ATM Data Service Provider (ADSP) strategy. Draft or contribute to service level agreements, monitor and ensure optimal customer relations/support (int./ext.) within the scope of the service level agreements, and present and promote the service as required Liaise and coordinate with the Local Competency Assessor to elab.orate and organise the System Control training and certification program. Ensure the coordination and supervision of all activities related to the technical monitoring and control of the MADAP Systems and associated equipment (e.g., ensure the 24/7 coverage of system control staff, initiate, and follow-up corrective actions, plan and coordinate technical interventions, etc.). Establish, maintain and adhere to processes that protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the IT systems within scope, to the standards defined in applicable security policies. Advice and provide input to the annual and 5-year budget and staff planning of the Unit in the area of responsibility. Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

Completed university studies of a minimum of 4 years in a relevant area or Completed university studies of a minimum of 3 years in a relevant area, and appropriate professional experience of at least 1 year Internal candidates can check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate. A minimum of 4 years’ relevant professional experience in a mission-critical environment including people management. Experience with ICT service delivery and operations in a safety-critical environment. Experience/understanding of complex safety critical systems and modern ICT infrastructure and applications. Project and Team Management skills. Understanding of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) regulations or equivalent. English drafting (technical reports). Applications will be accepted from nationals of EUROCONTROL Member States only. The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year (s) pursuant to the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. The contract may be renewed up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract. Before being established in the post, the selected candidate will be requested to provide certified copies of their degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months. Internal candidates If selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined). The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. This post entails management activities. Established staff members will therefore have to serve a confirmation period of 9 months. This period may be shortened to 6 months if the successful candidate is appointed following a competition preceded by a previous temporary assignment to the post for which s/he was selected. The Director General may also decide not to make subject to this provision if that official has previously been assigned, for a period of 2 years or more, to a post similar to that for which he has been selected and which entailed the same level of management responsibilities. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
