To contribute to the consolidation of the productive and socioeconomic organization of family farming in Brazil, through the implementation of innovative and priority actions in the formulation of national public policies. 


Reporting Lines

The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil - Programme


Technical Focus

To provide technical support to the Department of Innovation for Family Production and Agroecological Transition – DINOV/SAF/MDA with a focus on the evaluation of biodiesel companies and intermediary agents qualified as suppliers of raw materials in compliance with the socio-productive inclusion of family farmers in the southern region of Brazil, highlighting the participation of women and young people, within the scope of the Social Biofuel Seal. 


Tasks and Responsibilities

•    Conduct on-site visits to agroecological and transition family farmers; 
•    Assist the project in working with companies, startups, government institutions, research agencies, technical assistance agencies and family farming representatives, through meetings, thematic meetings at the national and international levels; 
•    Analyze the participation of family farmers supported by international organizations; 
•    Participate in seminars, workshops, meetings and gatherings on topics related to family farming, agroecology, the Social Biofuel Seal, Renewable Energies and the Healthy Food Program – PAS; 
•    Analyze, systematize and prepare documents with themes related to family farming and agroecology; 
•    Use computerized systems to conduct research on SAF actions and programs, to support the preparation of products and/or technical documents; 
•    Participate in meetings and present the partial and final results of the products, when requested by SAF/MDA managers; 
•    Participate in work with entities representing family farming, social movements and international organizations; and 
•    Support inmonitoring the actions developed on the subject of consulting with the agencies involved.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING: 


Minimum Requirements  

•    Bachelor's Degree in Applied Social Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, according to the Table of Areas of Knowledge/Evaluation of CAPES;
•    Minimum experience of 08 (eight) years in projects, programs and public policies aimed at family farming, cooperativism and regional development;
•    Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese;
•    Brazilian Nationality or other legally authorized to work in Brazil.
