About this position

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented, and innovative Data Analyst Consultant. As Data Analyst Consultant, you will support the generation of tools and databases that support the monitoring and evaluation of expected results of the projects supported by the IDB.

You will work with the Digital Transformation team part of the Strategy Development Division (SDV) of the Office of Strategic Planning and Development Effectiveness (SPD). One of the objectives of this team is creating a catalog of results indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of IDB operations.

What you’ll do

Prepare code and provide support to the processing of data, in particular sentence classification.

Participate in the process of data cleaning and conceptualizing results obtained from sentence classification analysis.

Contribute to the development of guidelines to classify indicators by incorporating best practices and sector-specific knowledge.

Assist in the preparation of inputs for presentations and internal reports.

The completion of these task will require access to confidential data. The consultant will be required to treat all information and data as confidential. A non-disclosure agreement may be required to be signed as part of the requirements of this consultancy.

Deliverables and Payments timeline

Payments will be made upon presentation of invoices on the basis of the number of days worked at the time of delivery of the outputs outlined in these terms of reference.

What you'll need

Education: Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science, Economics, Public Policy, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Masters preferred.

Experience: 2 years or more of general experience. Demonstrated experience and advanced knowledge of statistical programming languages such as Python or R. Experience working in applying Natural Language Processing tools for sentence classification and conducting program monitoring and evaluation is highly desired.

Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.
