Project Description

The Jigerduu Jarandar (JJ) Project is a five-year (2019 - 2024) project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The JJ Project goal is to advance public interest through support for community-led civic engagement as well as networks of regional and national civil society leadership. JJ support for civil society is based on a shared commitment to the public values of inclusive democratic participation and the equal protection of dignity and rights through the rule of law.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of COP, and in close and regular collaboration with the JJ Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning and Communications teams:

• Provides day-to-day support in the direct design, development and use by the JJ team of strategic information and related knowledge products, including learning pieces and policy briefs on civic engagement, gender base violence, women leadership, and other
• Provides targeted technical support to JJ partners regarding the design, development and dissemination of knowledge products, including quality assurance and compliance with donor rules and expectations;
• Monitors and updates JJ leadership on a regular basis regarding the timely and high-quality delivery of agreed knowledge products, both internal and external.
• In close collaboration with the MEL team, and under the guidance of the COP leads the development of case studies, briefing notes and reports that highlight results, lessons learned and the adaptation of JJ approaches.
• Participates in public events in representation of the JJ Project and delivers internal briefings and reports on such meetings.

  To contribute meaningfully, each lesson-sharing piece should be:

  • Learning-oriented: technically detailed for a specialist audience
  • Open and honest on lessons learnt
  • Developed collaboratively with the team and partners where applicable

    Frequent interaction with program leaders, administrative, and other staff.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • At minimum, a master’s degree in public relations, international relations, or related fields.
    • Demonstrated experience in analyzing data and creating specifications for reports.
    • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in conducting analyses and writing reports, journals, articles, or other types of written materials.
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent writing skills in both English and Russian languages

      KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

      • Knowledge of the political, social, cultural, environmental, and development context of the Kyrgyz Republic.
      • Solid understanding and knowledge of civil society landscape in the Kyrgyz Republic.
      • With minimal supervision, demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume workflow.
      • Service minded, well organized, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to handle multiplied tasks and demanding schedules to deliver high quality results on time.
      • Knowledge of general office practices and organizational skills, administrative and planning skills.
      • Good proficiency in computer software applications in particular Microsoft World, and Excel.
      • Excellent command of spoken and written English and proficiency in local languages.
      • Resourceful in gathering and providing information.
