Play2Learn+ is an early childhood school readiness program, which aims to improve child development and school engagement. In this key role, we need you to help implement and develop the program, making sure we maximise its impact. We’re seeking a leader with a passion for assisting our communities’ most vulnerable, at-risk children and families to reach their full potential.

Where you come in:

In this permanent full-time position, you’ll foster best practice across the Play2Learn+ program, supporting staff working with three years olds and their families to ensure they meet their developmental milestones and make a successful transition to Kindergarten. Based in Hobart, you’ll report to our Team Leader – Play2Learn+.

You will make an impact by:

Leading practice to ensure we target interventions to the needs of children and families with an outcomes focus Supporting the coordination of staff caseloads and program logistics, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and child protection Coaching, advising and providing on the job support and training to develop practice across the team Partnering with families who have complex needs to build capacity and positively shape children’s development

You’re a highly capable practitioner who is committed to best practice approaches when working with young children and their families. You’ve got plenty of energy and a natural leadership style, which helps you mentor and coach other practitioners with a collaborative, positive approach. Most importantly, you have a strong sense of empathy and an infectious enthusiasm for your job.

This role requires:

Significant demonstrated experience in early childhood development or family support Demonstrated experience in using trauma informed practice approaches Exceptional communication skills and experience in report writing Degree or Diploma in a related field (Social Work, Education, Community Development etc) Ability to mentor and support colleagues with assessment skills, use of tools and therapeutic interventions Holistic strengths-based approach to achieve lasting change with clients from all walks of life
