About the Role

The Senior Manager Program Delivery role is responsible for ensuring CARE Australia’s humanitarian and development programs are delivered in line with corporate program priorities and with the full collaboration of local partners, CA-managed Country Offices and CI entities and structures as appropriate. The position plays a critical role in managing an experienced team of program managers and is expected to work collaboratively with other Senior Managers and Heads of Unit in the department to ensure CA delivers high quality programming in SE Asia and the Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

Ideally you will have:

  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent in a relevant field, and a minimum five years’ field experience in humanitarian and development contexts with an INGO.

  • An understanding of Australian Government Aid program culture, systems and procedures.

  • A thorough understanding and experience of developing and implementing programs within the “humanitarian / development nexus” especially in the Pacific and or the Mekong sub region of Southeast Asia.

  • A thorough understanding of international development and humanitarian programming, and the changing role of INGOs in the global architecture.

  • Experience of programming effectively with and through local/national partners and a clearly articulated commitment to the ‘localisation’ agenda.

  • Proven leadership ability and personal attributes of a high order including, strong initiative and drive, a record of achievement, and strong people management and team building skills .

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent CA’s program work articulately in internal and external forums.

  • An understanding of the importance of empowering women and girls and a commitment to the protection of children and the prevention of sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse.
