    Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
    The position is assigned to the Financial Reporting and Control Section (CTAC-FRC), Accounting Division (CTAC) within the Controller’s Department.

    You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

    You will report to the Assistant Controller, CTAC and will supervise National Staff and Administrative Staff.

    Your Role
    As a Senior Financial Control Specialist (Sustainability Disclosures and Reporting), you will support the Assistant Controller in ADB’s sustainability related non-financial disclosures and reporting, including climate-related disclosures in accordance with internationally recognized standards, e.g. International Sustainability Standards Board, Securities and Exchange Commission climate reporting rules.

    You will:
    • Research and review impact of international sustainability disclosure standards to ADB; and assist in the development of related accounting policies, guidance and interpretations, detailed implementation plans identifying the required resources, milestones and deliverables, comprehensive impact analyses, and system and control implications, with the participation of relevant areas. Disseminate updated policies to other concerned departments/offices in ADB.
    • Work closely with the sustainability working group and other key stakeholders across the organization to identify, understand and support implementation of new sustainability reporting and regulatory requirements.
    • Develop and/or review relevant sustainability data collection processes, validation, and verification to ensure appropriate internal controls for assurance and attestation.
    • Support the collation and creation of annual sustainability standards reports, related disclosures, and periodic sustainability reporting.
    • Continuously review (and improve) other sustainability framework reporting as part of annual reporting cycle.
    • Prepare responses to or comments on applicable sustainability standards exposure drafts from relevant bodies.
    • Coordinate with development partners and other peer relevant institutions to ensure alignment and consistency in sustainability and climate-related disclosure methodology, data, analysis, and reporting practices; establish regular channels of communication on climate-related disclosure issues with development partners and peer institutions, particularly the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Finance Corporation (IFC), and European Investment Bank (EIB).
    • Monitor sustainability and climate-related practices and trends of other relevant organizations; review, research, analyze, methods/tools and technical inputs to ensure relevance in ADB context; review benchmarking on practices and trends among peer institutions and other relevant organizations.
    • Supervise staff assigned to the project, provide clear direction and regular feedback and input on performance.

    Qualifications

    You will need:
    ● Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or economics, with an internationally recognized professional certification, such as CPA, CA, or its equivalent; or University degree and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.
    ● At least 10 years of broad-based professional experience in accounting, finance and internal control related to sustainability issues.
    ● International experience working in several countries, preferably with experiences in international or multi-national financial institution.
    ● Strong knowledge of international sustainability standards such as US Securities and Exchange Commission (US SEC), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), and European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
    ● Proven management and leadership qualities, demonstrated by organizing and leading team towards achieving objectives.
    ● Widely recognized as a credible expert in field of expertise with recognized ability to lead and deliver Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) projects.
    ● Ability to generate and share relevant knowledge within and outside the institution.
    ● Strong communication skills, with an ability to articulate and present complex ideas in simple language and engage stakeholders towards meaningful outcomes.
    ● Be a role model of ADB’s core values to the team.
    ● Act as a mentor to team members, providing guidance.
    ● Act as a coach to develop capabilities/potential of staff.
    ● Written and verbal proficiency in English.
