The Senior Advisor for Climate and Energy will provide leadership and direction on low emissions development strategy issues related to sustainable landscapes and commodity value chains, climate resilient livelihoods, global climate change mitigation and adaptation and community access to clean energy. They will be responsible for cultivating working relationships with private and to a lesser extent public sector actors to spur collaborative efforts to green supply chains, develop nature-based solutions (NBS) that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and deliver community-based distributed clean energy solutions. They will support the catalyzing of private finance to upscale and drive investment into the agriculture, forestry, conservation, and other land-uses sectors and for increased clean energy access, accelerating low-emission yet profitable business models.
The Senior Advisor will provide technical leadership and direction for delivering technical assistance to companies to green their supply chains, develop and implement nature-based solutions and facilitate distributed clean energy solutions that are profitable, enhance sustainable land management, increase last mile connections, and contribute to reducing emissions. They will contribute to ensuring successful functioning of project and new business activities, including working with team members from the Sustainable Markets division to provide quality technical assistance to Country Offices; co-create engaging concepts, pitch decks, and proposals; and develop impactful thought pieces. Occasional travel is expected for this position.
