About this position
The Integration and Trade Sector (INT) of the Vice Presidency for Sectors and Knowledge seeks an outstanding and experienced trade economist to lead its policy research program at Headquarters in Washington, D.C. The sector has a long tradition and a strong record of policy research, whose main motivation has been to consolidate, expand, and better distribute the welfare and growth gains of integration and trade.
INT assists member countries in designing and implementing trade, investment, and integration policies that facilitate economic growth, development, and poverty reduction. INT’s research area is responsible for elaborating and implementing the sector’s knowledge agenda, which aims to inform IDB’s operations and policy dialogue on trade and integration.

What you’ll need:
· Education: You hold a PhD degree in Economics.
· Experience: You have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience with policy research and data analysis in international trade, investment, and integration. A solid record of publications, particularly in leading international trade journals is a plus.
· Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.
