OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST

The School Reopening Consultant - Transformative Education Section is responsible for supporting the systematic and accurate data collection, analysis, and report of data and information about the status of the schools' reopening in the LAC region. This is a dynamic role that involves data entry, extraction, and validation, as well as coordination and presentation of information and analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

    Maintain day-to-day oversight of data collection to ensure it is up-to-date, accurate, and in line with humanitarian and development data and information management guidelines/principles.

    To minimize any backlog by supporting data entry and regularly reviewing data quality.

  • " data-listid="4" role="listitem">

    Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure timely and appropriate sharing of data and information.

  • " data-listid="4" role="listitem">

    Monitor and support work done by Assistants, enumerators, or others related to the data and information management.

  • " data-listid="4" role="listitem">

    Undertake monthly extraction and cleaning of data on activities and obtaining/cleaning data in order to support the team with reporting.

  • Provide technical, administrative and logistical support for the organization of webinars and digital workshops on education issues.

    Complete additional tasks as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Academic qualifications: Advanced degree in economics, statistics or education with professional training in M&E.

Work experience: 2-4 years of relevant work experience, with a focus on data and information management, monitoring & evaluation; UN/NGO experience in the protection or education sector is an advantage

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage data collection processes and improve data collection systems.
  • Comfortable conducting quantitative analysis on a variety of data sets.
  • Highly organized and extremely detail oriented with regards to data entry and quality control.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written, visual (i.e. graphs/charts) and verbal.
  • High level of initiative and proactive approach to building relationships; a team player.
  • Flexible and focused on identifying possibilities and solutions.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel, CommCare, Kobo, Power BI, etc., including creating tables and forms, data extraction and analysis, using pivot tables, and charting/visualizing data.
  • Committed to improving the lives of vulnerable girls and boys, adolescents and families.

Languages: Excellent knowledge of Spanish and good knowledge of English

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience working with UN agencies.
