We are looking for a Project Manager to strengthen our Francophone Africa team. The position is to be filled starting as soon as possible.
You will be part of the Francophone Africa team of the GIZ International Services division. The main focus of your tasks will be the acquisition of new projects with international donors such as EU, MCC, World Bank and others. In addition, you will be responsible for the backstopping of new projects acting as a focal person for the implementation teams and clients in the region.The tasks can be summarized precisely as follows:
Project acquisition
Anticipatory and systematic market analysis Networking and proactive and strategic collaboration with donors, clients, partners and experts Evaluation of project opportunities on the basis of key figures and contextual information Organising and conducting fact-finding missions Conceptual and methodical preparation of \"pre-qualification\" documents Planning and coordination of the elaboration of technical offers, including identification of partners and experts (in cooperation with HR), drafting and editing of parts of the offer, contribution to the elaboration of the budgetProject implementation and steering
Technical and financial steering of projects Support to the identification and mobilisation of long- and short-term experts for planned consultancy missions Review and preparation of project reports Administrative and logistical support Knowledge management and development of project implementation strategies Management of donors, clients, partners, and expertsDepending on the successful candidate’s location preferences, the position can alternatively be staffed in Brussels, Belgium, with a contract as GIZ national employee (NMA). In this case, the position would additionally involve regular travel to the GIZ headquarters in Eschborn, Germany.
This position is suited to a full or a part-time (80%) position.
