About this position:

HRD Project Management Office (PMO) is crucial in ensuring that all departmental projects and initiatives align with the IDB's institutional strategy and Departmental priorities. This involves a meticulous and comprehensive approach to project management, from planning and execution to monitoring and evaluation.

The PMO acts as a catalyst for transformational change, leading to a more streamlined and efficient department that is better equipped to meet the needs of IDB Group employees and drive the organization's overall success. The PMO works closely with other Departments and stakeholders to ensure that assigned projects and initiatives align with the HRD’s goals and objectives and that teams collaborate and communicate effectively and efficiently throughout the project cycle.

HRD is looking for a dynamic, result-oriented professional with deep knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies that can work under moderate supervision.

What you’ll do:

  • Define clear project objectives, scope, and success criteria that align with Institutional Strategy and HR priorities.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, meticulously managing dependencies and ensuring excellence throughout project implementation.
  • Implement agile methodologies and techniques to support project success and adaptability, fostering a dynamic project environment.
  • Create and diligently monitor project progress, offering timely updates and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive informed decision-making.
  • Instill Agile principles and scrum practices within the team, nurturing collaboration and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to enhance project outcomes and optimize performance iteratively.
  • Establish a robust project management framework and PMO compliance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with change practitioners, ensuring seamless project transitions and minimizing disruptions.
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to contributing to organizational success.

    What you'll need:

    • Education: Master’s (or equivalent advanced degree) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Possess Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent project management certification.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in experience in project management, preferably within Human Resources in a large, global organization. Proficiency in scrum agile project management methodologies is a plus.
    • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

          • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
          • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
