The Programme Funding Coordinator is an integral member of the emerging programme funding team, providing effective and efficient support to country programmes in project design, donor networking and in order to grow and diversify a donor funding base. We are ambitious to increase scale and sustainability of our grant funding by diversifying our range of donors and securing larger and longer-term opportunities. The programme funding coordinator will be donor facing and work to identify and create new opportunities for the organisation across a diverse network and ensure that our country programmes are supported to produce consistently high-quality proposals. The position is responsible for driving growth of quality programming in our country programmes as well as increasing our reputation with donor agencies and within the wider International development community.

Your responsibilities

  • Leading on design of country specific programme funding strategies with relevant colleagues, including the fundraising component of annual plans.
  • Donor focused - monitoring institutional donor calls for proposals and funding cycles – donor identified, relationships developed, funding secured.
  • Donor identification, diversifying range of contacts and opportunities and working with Country Directors to position WCUK for project submission **

· Working with country teams to develop “generic” Concept notes in line with a funding strategy and overall country strategy. Facilitate design workshops. **

  • Leading the proposal development process, advising country teams, and ensuring all relevant team members have been consulted. Input on design and encourage innovation.

· Support fundraising teams on restricted proposal development and identification of funding needs

· Review logframes, narratives and budgets developed to ensure consistency and quality control

· Maintain a comprehensive pipeline of secured and prospective funding, ensuring that submission deadlines are met and that proposals meet expected quality standards.

  • Ensure the consistent application of the proposal development process across WCUK programmes, including the development and roll out of related tools and resources.

· Building WCUK profile and connections to position better for working in consortia, both as lead and sub-contractor.

  • Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Child Safeguarding and Adults at Risk Policies
