World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Program Associate, Policy and US Government Affairs
Major Function
This position supports WWF’s Policy and US Government Affairs team (PGA), which is responsible for maintaining relationships with US government officials, promoting conservation through policy and advocacy, and the pursuit of new opportunities to partner with US agencies on specific conservation programs. The coordinator assists both the Partnerships and the Policy and Advocacy teams within PGA.
For the Partnerships Team (60 percent)
Monitors government websites and databases for the partnerships team and analyzes and shares relevant information about funding opportunities.Helps maintain databases, tracking systems, and files.Helps maintain up-to-date capabilities statements for various subjects and issues and assists in drafting past performance statements for proposals.Supports proposal managers on large proposals by tracking deadlines, scheduling check-ins, and other coordination tasks as needed.Conducts background research and contributes to desk studies for priority geographies and issues.Provides targeted assistance for proposals, such as formatting CVs and preparing other discrete inputs.Keeps abreast of relevant USG agency programs and priorities.For the Policy and Advocacy Team (40 percent)
Helps develop and organize materials related to policy positions, proposed legislation and redlining, and advocacy strategy.Performs project, policy, and strategy analysis, research, and relationship management and facilitation functions, including direct coordination and engagement with and across PGA staff, WWF team members, WWF partners, and US government representatives as assigned.Attends calls and meetings with or on behalf of WWF staff, stakeholders, and Congressional/Administration partners, compiling notes as necessary, summarizing key points and action items in collaboration with Supervisor and team members.Monitors public sector developments, including Congressional hearings, introduced legislation, and key stakeholder events to identify opportunities for the PGA Team to influence policy and promote access.Occasionally assists with administrative functions for the Policy and Government Affairs team as a whole, including the planning for internal events and stakeholder meeting events hosted by the team.Assists with the drafting, editing, and production of documents and presentations developed by PGA for various audiences, including USG officials and partner organizations.Performs other duties as assigned.
