LOCATION: Kingston, Jamaica GROUP: Human Rights, Education, and Empowerment REPORTS TO: Deputy Chief of Party POSITION SUMMARY: The Organizational Development Specialist will be responsible for providing technical leadership for high-quality, results-oriented programs in Jamaica. The objective of the project is to leverage local partnerships in order to intensify multi-stakeholder coordination to provide trauma-informed services to survivors and expand the availability of information on survivors, witnesses, and perpetrators. The project will be community-led and survivor-informed, tailored to the intersectional challenges faced by individuals affected by interpersonal and collective violence, and emphasize sustainable solutions by pairing structured capacity strengthening with direct service provision of local entities. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Organizational Development Specialist is responsible for working with local partners and grantees to support them and build their capacity to fulfill specific scopes of work. This project aims to empower local organizations to ensure sustainability of the project’s results, even after the life of project. It will be the responsibility of the Organizational Development Specialist to ensure organizations are enabled to complete assigned work in the short- and long-term. Other responsibilities include: Jointly design and adapt technical and organizational capacity assessment tools with the project’s local partners. Work directly with partner entities to strengthen organizational capacities including adaptive management, planning, governance, proposal development, and communications. Improve the organizational management of sub-grantees and partner NGOs. Provide technical assistance to project staff and partners. Contribute to the development of annual work-plans, M&E Plan, and program progress reports. Represent Winrock and the project to external audiences, as requested. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s level degree or higher required in organization development, international development, education, or a relevant social science discipline. Experience: Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience working to build organizational development of organizations particularly in the areas of strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, financial management, operations and human resources. Demonstrated experience in forging collaborative activities, networks and coalitions among organizations in policy and advocacy. Experience using facilitative, participatory approaches to organizational development. Experience working with varying levels of organizations including NGOs, CSOs, CBOs and quasi-governmental organizations. Experience designing and implementing organizational capacity assessments and other assessment tools. Skills/ Knowledge: Demonstrated effective coordination and networking skills, interpersonal skills, creative problem solving, conflict, and ethical management skills. Experience working on projects funded by USAID or other international donors preferred. Fluency in English required. Willingness to travel regularly within Jamaica. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Winrock is an equal opportunity employer.
