Chemonics seeks a Malaria Project Manager for our Global Supply Chain team on the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program – Procurement Supply Management project (GHSC-PSM) based in Arlington, VA. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated project manager to work in tandem with the Malaria Integrated Supply Chain Manager to quickly address supply chain challenges, project manage ongoing work streams, improve processes, define malaria procurement priorities and balance workloads. The Malaria Project Manager plays a dynamic role in applying strong leadership, project management, and coordination skills to achieve critical results. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide day-to-day support to the Malaria Procurement Team, including assisting tracking the progress of orders, supporting the Malaria Integrated Supply Chain Manager in tracking bottlenecks and other issues and resolving these in collaboration with other teams
  • Track and promote achievement of On Time Delivery (OTD) metrics, through regular reviews of orders and process segments (cycle time analysis, CGAD review, ADD review), troubleshooting one-off and systematic challenges (supplier, logistics, waivers, quality assurance, etc.), tracking and performing ADD changes in accordance with project policy, and convening process improvement efforts
  • Provide traditional project management support in the form of project plans, stakeholder maps, communication plans, running stand-ups, cadence calls, etc.
  • Lead special projects, such as coordinating crisis management teams, incident report resolutions, and coordinating other ad hoc initiatives as needed
  • Work in tandem with the Malaria Integrated Supply Chain Manager to identify issues and bottlenecks, solve problems and respond immediately to crisis situations across the supply chain (and project writ large, as applicable), developing solutions that meet client needs
  • Liaise with the Global Supply Chain team and GHSC-PSM functional teams to ensure mutual understanding of Malaria Task Order requirements and facilitate communication in relation to operational order management issues or strategic initiatives as needed
  • Coordinate with the Malaria Integrated Supply Chain Manager on actions and communications with USAID/Washington and Missions as issues and needs arise that relate to overall Malaria Task Order management; represent the Global Supply Chain team in regular meetings between the Task Order teams and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) teams as needed
  • Coordinate and provide inputs to Global Supply Chain Operations team and other teams leading efforts to onboard new staff, including providing onboarding materials and sessions to ensure understanding of malaria products and procurement processes
  • Support interpretation of data for process improvement and strategy development
  • Develop materials and present at meetings, workshops, and trainings as needed regarding the Global Supply Chain team and Malaria Task Order
  • Participate in internal and external Malaria Task Order team meetings
  • Promote knowledge sharing consistent with project priorities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of professional experience in project management or relevant area and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required
  • Experience working in family planning, reproductive health, and/or malaria health supply chain for developing countries preferred
  • Solid understanding of USAID plus understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations highly preferred
  • Experience working with USAID projects and other international organizations working on public health preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing
  • Strong MS Office, word processing abilities, and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to make significant contributions to end results
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in problem-solving and initiative to learn new skills
  • Experience supervising or mentoring employees preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
