Terms of ReferenceQualifications:

- Master graduate or PHD students of political science, economic and social development or international relations
- deep interest in asylum and humanitarian issues
- background in peace and conflict studies desirable, especially in the OSCE region
- excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written)
- in order to benefit from an internship with UNHCR, applicants must be able to work fairly independently and are expected to be pro-active and flexible

Tasks
- Attend relevant external events and prepare summaries of content
- Supporting information management flows
- Assisting networking efforts for UNHCR concerns with OSCE/UN delegations
- Research and others (depending on the necessity within the Office)

The position
The intern will gain unique knowledge about UNHCR’s role, capabilities, programs, and impact, and its role in networking/advocacy and outreach in achieving UNHCR’s mandate.

Conditions:

It is a part-time role with a 32 hours per week commitment (4 working days). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in Vienna, Austria.

Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance, currently Euro 1,397/month.
