Role Overview:

EBRD is seeking a talented and driven Junior Credit Manager / Associate Credit Risk Officer to join our Corporate & Project Finance Credit Risk Management team. In this role, you will support your senior colleagues in the team in challenging and analysing new proposals from bankers as well as appraising, and managing credit risks associated with our corporate and project finance debt portfolio. You will play a vital role in shaping the bank's credit risk strategy and contributing to its mission of sustainable development.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive credit analysis for new and existing corporate and project finance debt transactions.
  • Identify potential risks and recommend risk mitigation measures, transaction structures, security, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with project teams, bankers, and committees to ensure projects comply with EBRD's sound banking mandate.
  • Provide clear and well-reasoned recommendations to the various executive Bank committees.
  • Assign and update credit ratings, ensuring compliance with risk guidelines and prudential limits.
  • Proactively monitor portfolio counterparties, countries, and market developments.
  • Participate in cross-departmental initiatives, executive committees, and contribute to risk policy and reporting efforts.
  • Foster a culture of credit awareness and effective risk management within the organization.

    Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in finance, business, economics, or equivalent with on-the-job training.
    • 2-5 years of relevant experience, including risk management exposure.
    • Strong financial analysis skills with a proven track record of analysing high-yield loans and financial instruments.
    • Knowledge of emerging markets, CIS, CEE, and SEMED regions.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
    • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
    • Climate risk awareness and understanding of environmental and reputational issues is a plus.
