ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

Unit Context:

The Operations Solutions (ITSOP) is a unit within the Operations & Corporate department (ITSOC) that provides state-of-art information and technology applications to support the business needs of Operations and Corporate VPUs. The unit focuses on modernizing product processing platform through enhanced business alignment, process simplification & integration, and improved team productivity. The ITSOP’s application portfolio spans across different business process including Fiduciary Management, Safeguards, Operations Financing, ASA, TF Reform as well as other Client Engagement and Corporate applications.  We collaborate with our clients to define product vision, strategy, roadmap, business processes aligned with business objectives while ensuring a stronger product culture and value proposition. And we contribute to providing the Bank with an integrated digital platform that connects policies, processes, people, and knowledge across the institution in a holistic and staff-centric manner.  

The Operations Solutions (ITSOP) unit is looking for a Product Owner to lead a suite of products in the Fiduciary Solutions Applications domain. This domain includes the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) and related systems which support World Bank Group staff and management responsible for overseeing the fiduciary obligations of the Bank Group.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has experience managing the product development process of one or more applications, working with clients, technical teams, and end users to produce robust solutions that provide value for money while satisfying organizational objectives and meeting user needs.

Specific Responsibilities

•Lead engagement with clients to fully understand pain points and needs and explore user research options with the Design team. Assess impact to end users and need for change management.

•Deliver regular status updates to client, flag risks/delays, and discuss any shift in requirements and priorities. Collaborate with the change communication team.

•Create Product Vision Board, write user stories, develop Roadmap, and rank essential features for MVP.

•Manage and prioritize the product backlog, translating client requirements into viable product features, tracking, and communicating feature costs.

•Oversee all stages of product development, working with the development team.

•Oversee and lead the User Acceptance Testing process.

•Plan and execute future releases through a data driven and agile approach.

•Develop KPIs that are measurable, actionable, and align with user goals.

•Actively monitor and incorporate into the work program various client needs, industry trends, Bank priorities, KPIs, and user feedback.

Selection Criteria

•Master's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience. 

•Experience working and defining the product strategy for digital workplace platforms and mobile applications.

•Experience working with Version One, Jira, Azure Boards and/or other relevant Agile planning tools.

•Experience with Agile scrum methodology

•Experience defining KPIs, measuring client satisfaction, scrum velocity, and experience with analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics, and Azure AppInsights etc.

•Ability to convert product usage data into reports, and creating analytics dashboards

•Experience creating release notes and communicating product success stories.

•Ability to prepare professional quality documents and PowerPoints and able to make convincing presentations. Strong presentation skills.

•Strong internal consulting skills and a track record of influencing stakeholders

•Proven skills in managing the full product life cycle of one or more products.

•Proven ability to collaborate with other team members across boundaries and contribute productively to the team's work and output, demonstrating respect for different points of view.

•Able to use strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to cultivate effective, productive client relationships and partnerships across organizational boundaries.
