Job description

Transport accounts for around a quarter of global energy-related CO2 emissions. In order to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, a transformation and extensive decarbonisation of the transport sector by 2050 is necessary. The project 'Mobilize Net Zero - Facilitating the global transport transformation', funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), supports countries in the Global South in strengthening their commitment to climate-friendly transport. The project is part of a larger cluster covering a wide range of issues related to mobility, infrastructure, and climate change. Our flat-hierarchy team consists of around 30 dedicated colleagues from the fields of transport planning, economics, development cooperation, political science, communication, and more.

We are looking for a committed and creative intern with a hands-on mentality and a digital affinity to support us in the communication of the Changing Transport brand (www.changing-transport.org) and the organisation and implementation of our flagship event Transport and Climate Change Week (www.transportweek.org). Your tasks

As part of the internship, you will support our team in terms of content, concept and operations, including:

The preparation, implementation, and follow-up of the ‘Transport and Climate Change Week 2024’ in the areas of communication, programme, and participant management High-profile presentation of the ‘Changing Transport’ brand: content creation for the changing-transport.org website and associated social media channels The conception and editorial preparation of effective content for online and print communication products The preparation and realisation of (online) seminars Our internal information and knowledge management

Your profile

You are studying and/or have a degree in event management, media, communication, environmental, political or social sciences or a related field. You have an interest in development policy and a basic understanding of the challenges in the transport sector and/or knowledge of international climate policy. You have a high degree of digital affinity and enjoy working with social media. Experience in organising digital events is an advantage. You implement creative ideas in an agile, fast and productive way and work efficiently, solution-orientated and independently. You have organisational skills, a hands-on mentality and enjoy organising events. You enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to contribute your ideas and develop new concepts. You are on C1 proficiency level in English and C1 in either German, Spanish, or French. You generally have a very good feel for language and are adept at writing and editing texts. Good knowledge of the usual MS Office programmes is a prerequisite; proficiency in image and video editing programmes such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is an advantage.

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross).
