Tätigkeitsbereich

The One Health Data Alliance Africa (OHDAA) is a regional project commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and works on the intersection of data, digitalization and health in the sense of the One Health approach. The project supports the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and African countries to exchange and use data from different sectors and sources for better One Health management and governance. Interoperable information systems, data governance and management, and the integration, analysis and visualization of data for specific use cases play a key role in the OHDAA project. OHDAA brings together experts from different sectors and disciplines and strengthens capacities and capabilities in One Digital Health to improve health and socio-economic wellbeing in Africa. The OHDAA project is part of the Group Digital Transformation in Africa at GIZ.We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a research and communication intern. As a research intern, you will work closely with our team to conduct research on a variety of topics related to One Health, Digital Health, data, digitalization and intersectoral data sharing. You will also support the organization and implementation of project related events as well as internal and external communication efforts.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Conduct background research, including literature review and stakeholder analysis related to One Health data and information systems
• Support the development and review of project related reports and documents
• Support the development, review and editing of various communication materials such as PowerPoint Presentations, Factsheet and Concept notes
• Support the organization and execution of project events such as conferences, summits, workshops, and webinars
• Support knowledge management within the project and across departments at GIZ
• Participate in and take minutes of team and group meetings

Ihr Profil

• Completed university studies in the social sciences, data science and governance, information and communication technology, comparable courses of study
• Interest or experience in development cooperation / international cooperation with a focus on digitalization or global health
• Good knowledge of research methods, data analysis and visualization • Interest in reporting and communicating technical content to the public
• Good understanding of the social and political landscape in Africa
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Communication Channels
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills as well as networking skills in an intercultural context
• Very good communication and moderation skills
• Business fluent in English, knowledge of German and French is an advantage

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.064,- (gross).
