At Relief Applications you will join a multinational team based in Madrid, where you will be part of the innovation task force, imagining and creating cutting-edge solutions to change how we help those affected by disasters. Working as an Information Management Officer you will take part in a full solution development lifecycle understanding partners' needs and translating them into actionable data solutions. Relief Applications always develops several projects simultaneously which requires the ability to adapt to new skills & tools quickly. Relief Applications is the official partner promoting the use of Oort (https://www.oortcloud.tech) in the humanitarian sector. You will be working side by side with the technical team and Business owners to bring innovative tools to life.
Education
- Training certificate or diploma in Information Technology, Demography, Statistics, Social Sciences
Skills
- English required –Spanish or French language a plus
- Advanced in some of the following software Excel, web content management, Geographic information system (GIS) application, BI tool such as PowerBI data visualization tools and other similar applications required.
- Ability to compile and holistically analyze diverse datasets
- Understanding of Humanitarian MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation Accountability and Learning) needs and constraints
- Knowledge of data collection tools and methodologies such as KoBoToolbox
- Capacity to develop training package or user guideline dedicated to IM system as a whole or focusing on IT tools or steps – adapted to a variety of audience types
- Ability to implement complex and participatory projects.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision with drive and initiative.
Experience
- Previous experience as an IM officer in a humanitarian organization
- Experience with handling confidential data is a plus

POTENTIAL TASK
- Assess and analyze partners-client pre-existing IM systems, tools and data sets
- Question and understand partners-client requirements and constraints and translate them into concrete data solutions
- Set up solutions using Oort (in combination with additional IT tools if needed) based on partner-clients requirements and constraints
- Design, develop and manage data sets;
- Generate and produce reliable, accessible, relevant, and timely information.
- Provide maps and graphics/infographics on a regular basis that aid forward planning, reducing overlaps as well as impact analysis.
- Understands, documents, and ensures the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency and comparability; consolidates operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis.
- Manage content on relevant web platforms, provides overall quality control for the platform and ensures content is current, comprehensive and follows relevant metadata standards; work with external counterparts on related web platforms
- Provide training to relevant partners-clients to improve allow ownership of IM systems and tools, as well as to enhance data management;
- Ensure timely, consistent, and accurate documentation of data to help turn data into useful content for vulnerable populations;
- Provide regular updates to the team on relevant topics and trends and support the editorial processes to turn data trends into engaging content for target audiences;
- Support the Data Analyst to create appealing visualizations to communicate data findings;
- Support the project lead with other tasks as and when needed
