IDB Invest is looking for a business analytics consultant capable of leverage data and analytical tools in an institutional level by extracting valuable insights and guide informed decision-making decisions.

About this position:

Data Management and Analytics is the team under AKI Division that is responsible to define and implement the data strategy for IDB Invest.

What you’ll do:

  • Understands the decision-making process, workflows, and business and information needs of business executions.
  • Translates business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information.
  • Coordinates with knowledge workers to understand their information needs and identifies ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner.
  • Proactively mines data warehouses to identify trends and patterns and generates insights for business units and senior leadership.
  • Works closely with information managers, architects, and business units for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training.
  • Develops analytical strategies to solve business problems by understanding the business problem, identifying relevant data, gathering, and summarizing data meaningfully, and applying appropriate statistical analysis.
  • Transforms complex data into easy-to-follow reporting through graphing, charts, and dashboards.

    What you´ll need:

    • Education: A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, information systems, or related quantitative field; master’s degree will be a differentiator.
    • Experience: At least 2 years of experience as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, market research analyst, financial analyst, statistician, or equivalent role. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including executives, managers, and marketing professionals, to provide data-driven insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making processes. Demonstrated experience in the creation of reports, dashboards, and data visualizations for the effective communication of insights and findings to a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Substantial experience with relational customer databases and query tools. Great communication and collaboration skills. Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, data visualization, and statistical modeling. Knowledge of data visualization solutions, Certified in PowerBI will be considered a plus. Functional expertise: [i] You are able to work in a high-pressure environment while juggling multiple tasks, and effectively prioritize tasks, [ii] you are able to understand and translate clients’ (business units) needs into solutions, providing services that meet clients’ expectations for quality and performance; [iii] you listen actively, obtain necessary input, share ideas, speak persuasively, and convey information in a clear, objective, and concise manner.
    • Languages: You are proficient in written and verbal communication in English and in a second official language of the IDB Group (Spanish, Portuguese or French).

      Requirements:

      • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

        Type of contract and duration:

        • Type of contract: Consultant Full-Time.

        • Length of contract: 18 months.
