The mission of the Green Climate Fund is to assist developing countries to respond to climate change while bringing prosperity to their people. Position Objective

The General Services Manager, reporting to the Chief Administration Officer, is responsible for the leading the General Services Team. General Services includes the areas of facilities management, corporate security, protocol and immigration, and overall administrative support.

Furthermore, this role is expected to bring expertise and take responsibility for the development and oversight of policies and programs to mitigate security risks to personnel, physical and digital assets. They will ensure continual evolution of these programs, by taking into consideration industry changes and best practices and development of new risks to GCF, in order to enhance and improve corporate security. This role is also responsible for business continuity, disaster recovery, and emergency management and will work closely with division heads to ensure ongoing management of these programs. The incumbent will update and ensure seamless communication with Senior Management of all critical developments, and work in close coordination with the Office of Human Resources (OHR) and other Divisions/Offices to ensure seamless execution of relevant policies and programs.

Duties and responsibilities

Purpose

  • Provide leadership to the General Services Team (GST), distributing tasks amongst its members, creating the team workplan, and monitoring delivery and performance.

  • Lead the development of strategy, policy, risk assessments, and other tools to enable consistent, effective security practices that minimize and mitigate risk and conversely, enhances security of personnel and assets (physical and digital).

  • Stay abreast of current technology developments as it relates to physical, environmental, and security risks and protection, as well as industry best practices/developments.

  • Evaluate security trends, evolving threats, risks and vulnerabilities; while applying tools to mitigate those risks in collaboration with affected Divisions/Offices.

  • Ensure the range of services GST delivers meet the standard timelines and quality levels set for each of them. Continuously measure the levels of satisfaction from users and stay on the lookout for new practices, systems, processes and other mechanisms to increase them.
