Tetra Tech International Development is currently accepting expressions of interest from qualified candidates for a Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Director. This position will be based in Burlington, Vermont, or Arlington, Virginia with consideration of other remote US-based locations.

The Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI) Director will provide the vision, leadership, and expertise required to reinforce and grow Tetra Tech’s cross-cutting project portfolio and activities in GESI. In coordination with and support of Tetra Tech’s core technical sectors, the GESI Director will lead, oversee, and collaborate with colleagues on new business development, technical assistance, and program implementation in the GESI field, for clients including USAID and other U.S. government agencies, multilateral development banks, agencies of the United Nations, local and national governments, and the private sector. It is essential that candidates demonstrate prior success with providing cross-sectoral GESI expertise in new business development, technical advisory, proposal writing, and for-profit contract management.

Responsibilities

*Develop and maintain leadership, technical vision, and strategy development in the GESI field;

*Provide leadership, vision, and management for the organization’s new business development activities in the GESI sector, including developing and strengthening the role and integration of GESI into Tetra Tech’s core technical sectors, diversifying the client base, and cross-selling Tetra Tech services;

*Provide program implementation support and technical expertise on GESI-related projects or components;

*Coordinate with sector directors and project managers at regular intervals, and help project managers, deputy project managers, and project management teams to craft appropriate responses to GESI contract challenges, problems, and issues;

*Represent Tetra Tech' GESI practice internally with other business units and externally with clients;

*Maintain and grow thought leadership and project performance reputation with clients, partners, and program beneficiaries within the GESI field; and

*Manage and supervise GESI staff as the practice area grows, and mentor and coach home office and project staff supporting GESI new business and project tasks.

Qualifications:

*Minimum of a graduate degree in gender, women’s studies, anthropology, sociology, political science, international relations, law, or another related field.

*Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 10 years related to international development;

*Proven excellence and qualifications in management of programs related to gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, gender-based violence, Indigenous Peoples and local communities, people with disabilities, youth, and social inclusion or related field;

*Demonstrated technical excellence and ability to strengthen and grow a portfolio of new GESI business;

*Established track record of writing, winning, and managing USAID and USG procurements; and

*Strong network of contacts relevant to GESI work within the international development community.

*Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and perform numerous tasks simultaneously;

*High level proficiency in MS Office applications;

*Functional competence in at least one major foreign language preferred (including Spanish, French, Portuguese, and/or Arabic);

*Ability to inclusively lead multidisciplinary, cross-cultural teams - in the Home Office and the field - with record of effective delegation, communication, and motivation;

*Exceptional intercultural communication skills, particularly writing and presenting to clients and partners; and

*Demonstrated commitment to client satisfaction, through technical excellence of deliverables and managerial strengths in scope, schedule, and budget.
