About the Program:

The Food and Land Use Coalition (FOLU) is a self-governed coalition of organisations and individuals working collaboratively to achieve a shared objective: the urgent transformation of food and land use systems to deliver a better future for people, nature and climate. FOLU supports science-based solutions and helps to build a shared understanding of the challenges and opportunities to unlock collective action.

Job Highlight:

Reporting to the Partnerships Director, you will drive the delivery of a range of strategic priorities for the team throughout 2024. This will include: the establishment of a new FOLU Platform; strategic management of the FOLU global Ambassador network; the creation of new Strategic Partnerships; and supporting the successful establishment of a new international Alliance of countries determined to transform their food systems with the pace and urgency that the science demands, to be launched at COP28.

You will be supported by Partnerships and Coalition Coordinator who will report into you, and the Partnerships Director, who will provide strategic guidance and oversight.

What will you do:

Strategic Project Research and Delivery (50%):

  • Work closely with the Partnerships Director, assist in the delivery of strategic projects and take responsibility for the successful and timely delivery of key work streams within these
  • Conduct research, drafting concept papers, preparing funding applications, organizing and attending external meetings and events
  • Engage with senior stakeholders, both within and outside of the FOLU coalition

    Partnerships and Coalition Management (30%):

    • Help oversee the smooth organization and running of all FOLU coalition meetings
    • Help identify, establish and build new Strategic Partnerships (globally), and assist with the ongoing effective management of existing Partnerships
    • Prepare briefings for members of the FOLU Senior Leadership Team, including the Executive Director, to assist with preparation for meetings, events and presentations
    • Conduct research on relevant topics and drafting clear, concise Word and PowerPoint documents

      Communications and Events (10%):

      • Work with the FOLU communications team to deliver high impact comms products
      • Organize events at COP and other international meetings
      • Organize and contribute to webinars, workshops, debates and other events as required

        Staff Management (10%):

        • Manage directly 1 member of staff

          What will you need:

          • Education: You have completed a Bachelor’s degree(Master’s preferred) in geography, environment, economics, international development, climate or health/nutrition-related discipline
          • Experience: You 5+ years of relevant experience within a government, civil society and/or private sector organization
          • Experience managing multi-stakeholder coalitions, and providing strategic thought leadership
          • You have experience working with a diverse coalition of partners and organizations
          • You have experience drafting policy briefs and presentations using several tools such as Powerpoint, etc.
          • Experience working in, or with, Non-Governmental Organizations and prior engagement in an environmental or international development focus area
          • Experience developing and organizing proposals for varying audiences
          • Languages: Full fluency in English with excellent writing skills
          • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

            Potential Salary: The salary range for this role is £44,000 to £53,000. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
