Work LocationHybrid Expected duration2-6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe intern will work under the supervision of the Chief of Economic Statistics. The intern will contribute to both national accounts and external sector projects within the Economic Statistics Unit. Specific projects or work areas the intern will contribute to include: • Assisting in the compilation and analysis of national accounts data. Assisting in data entry and verification for national accounts. • Assisting in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes. • Supporting the team in the preparation of external sector reports, including balance of payments and trade statistics. • Contributing to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases. • Collaborating with team members on special projects or ad-hoc tasks related to economic statistics. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Internships do not require work experience LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat.
