GENERAL:
Winrock is recruiting a full-time Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), Technical for the five-year U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID/Dominican Republic) Solid Waste Reduction Program. The program will implement activities in coordination with a wide range of stakeholders (national and municipal governments, private sector, communities, and civil society organizations) to put the country’s 2020 Solid Waste Management (SWM) Law into practice to better manage waste and adopt circular economy models.
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP), Technical will be responsible for managing the programmatic activities under all three objectives of the project: 1) Best SWM practices implemented in accordance with the 2020 SWM Law at the national and municipal level on the northern coast by building capacity and strengthening governance; 2) Communities, in coordination with local government and the private sector, reduce waste at the source by adopting sustainable SWM practices (or zero waste practices); and 3) Circular economy models are expanded and/or established with key private sector actors to achieve the goals of the project. In undertaking these responsibilities, the DCOP will coordinate closely with the DCOP Operations and work under the direction of the Chief of Party (COP) for the USAID Solid Waste Reduction Program . In addition, the DCOP will coordinate and work closely with the Winrock home office to prepare project deliverables.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will assist and support the Chief of Party (COP) in management of the project and coordination of activities to achieve synergies across the three project objectives. The DCOP, Technical will supervise leads of Objectives 1, 2 and 3. The DCOP will supervise the sub-awardees on the project.
