Corporate Affairs Advisory Consultant

IDB Invest also supports and collaborates with clients through the provision of advisory and training services.

The Department of Strategy and Development’s (DSP) primary role is to lead IDB Invest efforts to create, implement and sustain its strategic vision and achieve development impact and additionality. DSP delivers on Development Effectiveness, Strategic Planning and Knowledge, Social Environmental and Governance, Advisory Services, and Corporate Affairs.

Corporate Affairs (DSP/CAT) is responsible for: (i) promoting, developing and coordinating Management relationship with key governance and oversight bodies within the IDB Group; (ii) outreach and dialogue with partners in the development community, including MDBs, DFIs and other international organizations; (iii) implementation of IDB Invest’s Access to Information (ATI) Policy and promoting transparency in our operations; and (iv) strategic advice to the Chief Strategy Officer and serving as front office for DSP. The team is led by the Director, Strategy Advisor and Head of Corporate Affairs and Transparency.

About this position:

The consultant will provide support to the front office in different aspect of the Corporate Affairs Function and in strategic initiatives such as the Amazonas Initiative.

What you’ll do:

With regards to the Amazonas Initiative,

  • Under the guidance and leadership of the Coordinator of the Amazonas Initiative, the consultant will:
  • Support in the implementation of a partnership and fundraising strategy, conduct outreach and engagement with potential donors and partners, prepare and submit proposals and reports.
  • Support in the design and implementation of a mapping exercise to identify the main value chains present in the Amazon region and aligned with the Amazonia Forever thematic pillars, as well as the main financial and infrastructure service providers to these value chains.
  • Support the Initiative Coordinator developing and applying a synergies framework that aligns the Amazonia Forever initiative with the public upstream policies and programs of the governments and institutions, and with the country strategies and dialogue processes of the participating countries in the Amazon.
  • Support the Initiative Coordinator maintaining and strengthening the relationship of the Amazonia Forever initiative with the external partnerships and civil society organizations that are involved or interested in the Amazon region. The consultant will coordinate the communication and dissemination of the vision, objectives, and achievements of the Amazonia Forever initiative, and solicit and incorporate the feedback and inputs of the external partners and civil society groups and facilitate and support their engagement and advocacy for the Amazon region.
  • Support partners on the ground with technical assistance for the structuring of projects and/or initiatives that are attractive (both in terms of economic viability and impact perspective) to donors and investors focusing on the Amazon region.
  • Support the planning of missions, and the preparation of briefs, data and information collection and pitches and presentations.

    With regards to Corporate Affairs

    Under the guidance and leadership of the CSO Principal Advisor, the consultant will:

    • Support the preparation of briefs, data and information collection, and pitches and presentation.
    • Support the work of the Chief Strategy Officer and his/her principal advisor(s) in the preparation of written and audiovisual reports, presentations, and documents.
    • Produce information management reports with relevant statistics to be provided to upper management and the Board. Manage analytics and reporting tools to evaluate the effectiveness of corporate affairs initiatives and activities
    • Support in the management of the relationship with international organizations and initiatives, as well as the management of the relationships with key corporate relationships within the IDB Group.

      What you'll need

      • Education: An advanced degree (at least Master or equivalent) in business administration, international affairs, law, economics, finance, or another relevant field.
      • Experience: You have at least five (5) years of working professional experience in environmental management, environmental and social impact assessments, environmental and social monitoring, environmental and social due diligence, and execution and control of private-sector projects.
      • Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

          Requirements:

          · Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

          Type of contract and duration:

          • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
          • Length of contract: 6.5 months.
          • Work Location: On site.
