About this position

We are looking for an engineering professional with a solid technical understanding of cloud computing technologies and general computing environments to work as a Cloud Engineer Senior Associate. The main purpose of this position is to meet the goals below related to the Cloud computing technologies and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure area of the IDB Group. This position will work closely and cooperatively with other division support teams to achieve this successfully.

The Information Technology (ITE) department is responsible for formulating and implementing the Bank’s IT Strategy and providing related tools, solutions, and services. It is also the focal point for all IT services and solutions (infrastructure, data, and applications), architecture, policies, and security at Headquarters and Country Offices. The department aims to become even more business-aligned, customer-centric, and agile.

What you’ll do:

We are looking for an IT professional with a strong background as an IT infrastructure specialist who is a Cloud Engineer with demonstrated experience who will: Provide cloud engineering advice and support to solution architects and project managers seeking to develop solutions based on cloud platforms and available IT infrastructure services. Contribute to technical discussions and analyses to advance DevOps practices, continuous integration, continuous deployment (CI/CD), and tools for such functions. Develop the necessary infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration files for deploying and provisioning resources in Cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure. Contribute to the design of infrastructure solutions in the Cloud, considering aspects of high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery. Collaborate with the Network team to support and maintain network connectivity to Cloud computing services, including VNet integrations, Express Route, Direct Connect, VPC peering, Firewall ACL filters, Network Security Groups, etc. Collaborate with the Cybersecurity infrastructure and IT risks teams to implement security controls for Cloud computing services. Contribute to the design, research, review, and preparation of technical specifications and documentation regarding business solutions being implemented on our Cloud platforms. Support the provisioning, installation, configuration, certification and administration of virtual servers, clusters, and other Cloud resources on the Bank’s cloud platforms. (AWS and Microsoft Azure).

What you'll need

Education: A master’s degree (preferable) or bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science, Information technology, or other fields relevant to the role’s responsibilities with these desirable certifications:
Management of Cloud Computing, ITIL, or Security - Azure Cloud, AWS, or Google certification in Solutions Architect or DevOps engineer. Disaster Recovery and High Availability configurations and setup Experience: You have at least three years of relevant IT experience, with at least two years as a Cloud engineer, which is desirable. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas clearly: Modern programming languages: e.g., Python, Node.js, Java. Experience with version control tools such as GIT or Bitbucket. Automation Pipelines: Creating and deploying Infrastructure as code changes to automation pipelines such as Jenkins. (Ideally: GitLab, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform) Cloud Scripting: Cloud formation, ARMs, PowerShell, infrastructure as a code (Yaml, Terraform) Technical Leadership: Experience serving as a subject-matter expert (SME) and coordinating work with internal and external teams. Project planning and execution of enterprise-level automation solutions in an Agile environment. Driving achievable technical outcomes through hands-on technical subject matter expertise. Cloud Providers: Relevant work experience with MS Azure and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Should demonstrate skills with network and Cloud security and the deployment via Infrastructure as code for provisioning cloud infrastructure resources. Monitoring: CloudWatch, Azure Monitoring, DataDog. Computer networking: Fundamentals of networking concepts, name resolutions (DNS), load balancers, VPCs, VNETs, NSGs. Modern Authentication: Knowledge and use of modern authentication mechanisms. (SAML, OAuth, MS Entra ID, AWS IAMs) APIs: Understanding of RESTFull pattern and HTTP Protocols, Swagger framework. Communication: Presenting technical and non-technical information articulately to both internal and external teams and stakeholders

Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank's official languages (Spanish, French, or Portuguese) is required.
