Job Title: Case Management and Malaria in Pregnancy Specialist (Provincial)

Summary: The Case Management and Malaria in Pregnancy (CM/MIP) Provincial Specialist in the USAID Malaria Capacity Strengthening (MCAPS) program in Mozambique is responsible for technical oversight and program management for including contributing to continuity across program implementation areas and service delivery with emphasis on case management and management of malaria in pregnancy at the provincial level. The CM/MIP Specialist (Provincial) will also work closely with the MCAPS Maputo based team to ensure comprehensive technical and programmatic support.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation and oversight of the CM and MIP activities in the province.
  • Provide technical direction in activity planning for CM and MIP components under projects implemented in the province
  • Provide comprehensive, customized, and documented mentoring and technical assistance in CM and MIP
  • Ensure implementation and monitoring of workplan deliverables
  • Ensure quality of CM and MIP activities being implemented in provincial level.
  • Work intensively with the partners to address gaps in technical areas
  • Work under the supervision Organizational Development Specialist to coordinate, implement, and report on provincial level CM and MIP activities. Including in-person and virtual check-ins.
  • Work closely with the MCAPS technical staff in Maputo and the Provincial Technical Lead to implement malaria interventions at both facility and community levels, including case management and MIP.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in public health, business administration, social work, sociology, public health or similar academic field
    • At least 2 years of work experience in the clinical management of malaria or malaria in pregnancy
    • Proven experience and understanding of the workings with MOH and county health teams.
    • Strong clinical background in CM and/or MIP.
    • Strong technical knowledge and skills in malaria control.
    • Demonstration of strong skills in management, leadership, and supervision.
    • Strong oral and written skills in Portuguese and English.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
